The Worst Bridezilla Stories Ever
How many think they have the worst bridezilla stories to tell? We all have been to a wedding (or at least heard of a wedding) where the bride’s demands of her guests went completely out of control. Whether it was a tantrum over a dress, a beyond-belief wedding ceremony demand, or just an overall holy-than-thou, princess-y attitude, bridezilla behavior seems to be an all too common issue at weddings. Of course, there’s an occasional bridezilla-like tantrum, and then there’s full-on, nightmare-fuel rage bridezilla behavior. When a bride-to-be goes full bridezilla, it’s something that no one ever forgets. Don’t believe it? Read these wedding horrific accounts of the worst bridezilla stories ever and think again. If your friends need a good reminder that you're all actually sane compared to these people, then don't forget to SHARE this with them on social media!
Brunettes Only
With most bridal parties, a certain level of outfit coordination is expected to occur. Maybe everyone has the same dress, or every bridesmaid has her hair pulled back in a similar way. One bride-to-be didn’t think that was enough. The bride had an entire party of brunette bridesmaids, save for one natural red head. She demanded the fiery-haired bridesmaid dye her hair brown to match the other bridesmaids. Needless to say, the bridesmaid felt very uncomfortable about it. When the red-haired bridesmaid posted her dilemma on Reddit, the online outrage finally goaded the bride to come to her senses about how ridiculous her demand was.
Pay for My Affection!
Bridezillas tend to want bigger, more lavish weddings than they can actually afford. Some demand massive amounts of money from all their guests. Others do a GoFundMe campaign. One bride got crafty by inviting a bunch of female friends to an auction. See where this is going? The bride’s sister posted her nightmarish story on Reddit, with a tale of how her sister decided to host an auction for the six bridesmaid spots she had open. Top bidders would purchase the dubious honor of being in the wedding party and paying even more money on bridesmaid stuff.
The Bridal Dictatorship
Imagine being invited to a wedding that came with its own rulebook. Insane, isn’t it? Well, one Reddit user actually had the displeasure of dealing with a bridezilla that was that crazy. The rules included tie colors that were banned, a minimum gift requirement of $300, a no facial hair clause, as well as a rule stating that no one was allowed to talk to the bride or groom alone. The Redditor who posted the story hopefully politely declined the invitation. One can probably assume that the reason no one could speak to the groom alone was because everyone would be begging him not to go through with marrying such a micromanaging monster.
Wedding Ransom
Money definitely seems to be the name of the game when it comes to bridezilla behavior. One couple that was mentioned on a Reddit thread pulled a really terrible move by inviting everyone to the wedding, greeting their in-laws at the destination, then telling the in-laws that they needed $12,000 or that “there would be no wedding tomorrow.” Most of the guests couldn’t actually afford to attend, but were browbeat into it by the bridezilla. So, none of this drama had to happen. The in-laws ended up gifting them the money, which may have been one of the priciest mistakes the family made.
Forget Your Finals, Already!
Though weddings are important events, they really only last a day or so. Most parties associated with weddings, including a bridal shower, also only last about a day or so. Parties are fun, but they will not impact your future like school will. One bridezilla’s friend was invited to her bachelorette party, which inconveniently fell on the same day as her college finals. Being a reasonable person, she politely declined. The bridezilla wouldn’t accept no as an answer, and apparently kicked her out of the bridal party as a result.
The Big Heist
Another major scandal erupted on Reddit after a bridesmaid discovered that the bride and maid of honor plotted to scam the rest of the bridal party. The bride told her friends to buy dresses that she claimed were $400. The maid of honor, acting gallantly, offered to pay for all the dresses and let the women pay for them in installments. The girls paid the maid of honor. When the girls picked up the dresses, they were told to pay an additional $200. As it turns out, the maid of honor never paid for their dresses. She and the bride ripped off the bridal party in order to pay for her own wedding dress. Four of the six girls who were in the party dropped out as a result. The last two? We only imagine they must be extremely patient, forgiving people.
Not Your Bank Account! ~ Part 1
It’s somewhat normal for wedding hopefuls to ask family members to pitch in for a beautiful celebration, but this was way over the top. One bride made international headlines after she demanded that every single guest pay $1,500 a head so that she and her husband-to-be could afford a $60,000 Aruba destination wedding – despite saving only $15,000 themselves. Her rationale? A psychic told her to go with the more expensive option. Check out the full post starting here and continuing on the next slide. Somehow, it gets even more insane....

Not Your Bank Account! ~ Part 2
Only eight people gave her the money, and as a result, she decided to cancel the wedding. To make matters worse, she posted the rage-filled open letter you read here online, telling her friends that they were terrible. Her fiancé offered to plan a wedding in Las Vegas to save money, but she laughed in his face. In her online rant, she wrote, “He wanted those cheap, raggedy, filthy, whore like Vegas weddings. Am I some Hooch piece of f---ing trash, a hooker?”
The engagement was (thankfully) ended and her best friend no longer speaks to her. Somehow, we can’t help but feel they dodged a bullet.

Change Who You Are!
When people choose bridesmaids or groomsmen, it’s understood that they do so because they love the person they chose. Apparently, one bridezilla didn’t get the memo. The bride’s best friend is a very “tomboy” type of person, who prided herself on her short hair, pale skin, tattoos, and punk look. The bestie was also dating a girl. The bride invited her, then told her that she would “make her dress girly.” To be in the wedding, the bridesmaid had to cover up all her tattoos, go tanning, wear a dress, and even grow her hair out. The bridesmaid then suffered a death in the family, which made her step down from bridesmaid to guest. Now that the girl was out of the bridal party, the bride asked what she’d be wearing. The guest replied that she and her girlfriend would wear suits. The bride balked, saying that no one wanted “two lesbians in suits” to ruin the photos. Needless to say, that was the end of the friendship.
How to Lose a Bridesmaid in 10 Seconds
Modern weddings mean that bridesmaids will be expected to do a lot of things for the bride, including setting up a bachelorette party, being there for support, and also helping the bride with her outfit on the big day. Bridesmaids are typically the bride’s best friends, too. Insulting them is not something a bride should do. One bridezilla didn’t get the hint, though. Her bridesmaid friend was three weeks post-partum, and had to be fitted for dresses. Usually, the bridesmaid is a size six. She was working on losing the baby weight, too. So, she tells the bride to order the dress in a size six. The bride scoffed, telling her, “I’m a size six. You, sweetheart, are not. So I ordered you a 10.”
“Separate But Equal”
Some wedding seating arrangements might raise an eyebrow, but this one dropped jaws. One Facebook post on Reddit dealing with a wedding revealed that the bride decided to separate her guests by race, citing that the tables were “separate but equal.” The post also noted that they were “not racist,” and wanted people to sit where “they would feel most comfortable.” Somehow, it’s very hard to believe they aren’t racist if they’re asking people to sit different places based on skin color. Hopefully, the post wasn’t real, but it has not been confirmed to be a hoax.
No Kids!
Childfree weddings are starting to increase in popularity, but if you’re marrying a single father, this type of wedding clearly should be off the table. Unfortunately, one truly terrible bride didn’t seem to think that her fiancé’s child needed to be in the wedding. On a Facebook post, the bridezilla asked for advice on how to have a childfree wedding and convince her fiancé to keep his daughter at home. Citing that the child was “very needy and makes everything about her,” the bridezilla insisted she didn’t want her anywhere near the wedding. When people pointed out how awful she was, she replied in an edit, “I’m marrying him, not his crotch goblin! That’s his mistake, not mine.” This lady might truly be an evil stepmother.
Wigging Out
Looks really shouldn’t matter when it comes to matters like choosing a bridesmaid. Your wedding guests are your best friends, not props to set up for a photoshoot. When one bride found out that her bridesmaid’s hair fell out due to chemotherapy, it was clear that the best course of action was to support her. Instead of the kinder option, the bride insisted that the bridesmaid wear a wig. The bridesmaid was in shock, since she had told the bridezilla how much shame she felt about her hair and how much it traumatized her. When she stood up for herself, the bridezilla kicked the Redditor out of the wedding party.
Just Because She Could
One bridezilla seemed to have a vendetta against her sister, big time. Along with barring her from the bridal shower because she needed to bring her 5-month-old to the party, the bride also barred the woman’s boyfriend and father of her child from the wedding. Making matters worse, her bridal demands put her uncle with late-stage cancer at risk. After the wedding was finished, the bride may have realized her mistake after the majority of her family no longer spoke to her. At the time of the sisters’ writing on Reddit, the bride’s parents were debating refusing to attend.
Orange Soup, Please
Sometimes, it’s the menu that makes the woman turn into a bridezilla. One bride-to-be decided that her wedding needed orange soup. The soup itself apparently tastes great, but takes a very long time to prepare. She couldn’t afford a caterer who would be willing to make it for her. So, what did she decide to do? The day of the wedding, she brought her mother and two guests to the kitchen, where over 400 oranges and 200 lemons were waiting to be zested. The mother had to go back to her room to calm down, while the two other guests did the work.
Detox or Die
Health nuts are always a bit hard to handle, especially when they decide that getting married entitles them to determine the health practices of everyone around them. A particularly wild bridezilla decided that her wedding meant every single bridal party guest had to perform a detox before the event. Each bridal guest was expected to eat a strictly vegan, live food diet for a minimum of 21 days. Why? So everyone would “look their best” at the wedding.
Uh, What?
Some bridezillas are just intolerable. Wait, no, that’s all of them. A very stressed guest spoke of a story where a bride threw a fit because people “weren’t happy enough” about her wedding and accused bridesmaids of looking ugly to ruin her big day. After kicking the bridesmaids out, the bride then pulled a really insane move. She called the kicked out bridesmaids in tears, claiming that she was now short two bridesmaid outfits. The two actually went back to the bridal store to return the dresses and got their money refunded. So, the poaching attempt backfired spectacularly.
You Can’t Get Thin
So far, we’ve seen several stories where brides tried to pick bridal parties by finding out who are the most slender. This bridezilla was a bit different than most. She felt so insecure about her figure that she noticed that the bridesmaid lost weight. When the bride pointed it out, she asked the bridesmaid to gain the weight she worked so hard to lose back. When she refused, the bride kicked her out of the party because she wanted to be “the skinny one.”
Only $100?
It’s no secret that many wedding guests who attend lavish weddings aren’t really well off, even though the price tags of attending can be sky high. The fact that people attend the weddings despite their tight budgets should be enough to show their support once more. One bride invited a very cash-strapped friend to her over-the-top wedding. The friend was able to scrounge up $100. Her thanks? Well, the bride's family wanted to know why the gift was “only $100.”
That’s a Bad Playlist
Bad taste can cause a lot of problems in a wedding. For some reason, one bride wanted to play “Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy” every fourth song. After the song played for the eighth time, wedding goers started to file out of the dance floor. The bride wasn’t having it. She threw a fit and demanded that everyone get back on the floor. When the partiers refused to do what she said, she screamed and flipped over the table with the wedding cake on it. Shockingly, the guests looked unsurprised and left the wedding without a wink.
“My Special Year”
When a bridezilla gets married, it’s not uncommon for her to think that the entire year belongs to her. It’s a strange phenomenon, but sadly, it’s somewhat common. One bridesmaid found this out after she got engaged in the same year as her friend’s wedding. Her friend pitched a fit, accusing the newly engaged girl of stealing her thunder during her “special year.” Hopefully, her friend realized she was better off without the bride’s behavior.
That’s Just Terrible
We’ve all heard of brides who asked for freebies from vendors as part of their wedding plans, but the greed came to an all-new level with this bride. A guest noticed that the bride kept raving about the food caterers served at her wedding, so she was surprised to see the terrible review she left on Yelp. The bride explained that she wrote the bad review and refused to take it off unless the caterers would offer a discount. She was literally holding the caterer’s reputation hostage!
Driven Crazy
Even the smallest details can make a bridezilla go bonkers, and that’s proven with this wild ride of a tale. One bride was so angry that she couldn’t fit all 12 of her bridesmaids in a shuttle, she went so far as to assault the driver. The driver tried to maintain calm until she tried to bite him, and then he left her on the side of the road. After the groom’s family heard that she was stuck on the highway, they came to get her. The problem? Her attitude was so foul with them, they ended up leaving her on the road too!
Wipe or Slap
Wedding dresses can definitely be difficult to maneuver in, but there are certain things you just shouldn’t ask your bridesmaids to do. One of those things is ask them to wipe you after you go to the bathroom, and yes, one bride decided to cross that boundary with a girl who was in the bridal party. The girl refused. An argument erupted, with the bride begging her to wipe her. The girl refused again, and the bride slapped her across the mouth. After the wedding, they didn’t speak for years. The bride later apologized, but somehow was surprised when the bridesmaid didn’t want to talk to her anymore.
Six Wedding Dresses?
Imagine being so swept up in wedding fever that you start buying crazy amounts of everything that has to do with your wedding. One bride went so crazy with her wedding planning that she bought SIX different wedding dresses, veils, and shoes for her event. Her wedding party of 20 was then tasked with doing all the set up for a 200-guest event. Then, the party was told to start working in the kitchen. Why? Because all the money was spent on the wedding dresses the bride constantly switched in and out of.
This Is Just Rude
A bride decided to sit one of her close friends down and explain to her that she wouldn’t be part of the bridal party. Though upset, the guest understood. A couple of months later, she received an invitation for a bridal shower that she couldn’t attend. One would think the bride would be okay with that, right? Nope. The bride spent the entire night sending mean, and even aggressive texts about how terrible of a friend she was for missing the event. The friend then decided it’d be best to bow out of the wedding.
